2006 QUAILS' GATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Winemakers Notes:

Harvested from the Quails’ Gate Boucherie Mountain vineyards, our Cabernet Sauvignon benefited from the hot summer of 2006. Fermented in 5-ton stainless-steel tanks using spontaneous fermentation, this wine went through extended skin contact to give the wine excellent colour, balance and complexity. The Cabernet Sauvignon spent 18 months in French and American oak barrels prior to blending and bottling. Though the 2006 vintage is drinking well now, it will reward careful cellaring of up to 5 years.

Tasting Notes:

Notes of brambly blackberry and blueberry mingle with dark fruits, exotic spice and rich cocoa. Our Cabernet Sauvignon provides mid-weight textural sensations abound with ripe firm tannins supporting an elegant frame and a long smooth finish. A versatile food wine, try it with roasted rack of lamb, rich stews or aged blue veined cheeses.
