2006 QUAILS' GATE CHARDONNAY

Winemakers Notes:

 Grown in a classic cool climate season, this Chardonnay has good balance and acidity. Our Quails' Gate Chardonnay is a blend of 60% tank fermented and 40% barrel fermented estate grown Chardonnay. This combination gives the wine all the interest and complexity of barrel fermentation while the tank portion provides bright tropical citrus notes.

Tasting Notes:

The 2006 version is crisp and fresh. A sweet floral honey-note, a zingy acidity, and a flinty character combine with ripe tropical citrus and toasty oak to make a versatile food friendly Chardonnay. Try serving it with seafood risotto or a smoked trout mousse.
