Quails Gate Okanagan Kelowna Dry Riesling Wine
2007 QUAILS' GATE DRY RIESLING
Winemakers Notes:
Sourced entirely from 25 year old vines in the Quails’ Gate Estate vineyards. The deep roots extend into the subsoils of the Boucherie Mountain slopes, which brings more complex mineral and slate notes to the fruit. The cool season is reflected with elevated natural acidity, which gives structure to the palate and enhances ageability. Fermented cold with vigorous yeast strains, six batches were blended to create the final wine. This wine will reward careful cellaring with structured, complex layers.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of spearmint, green tea and key lime pie combine with a fresh, juicy palate of tropical lemon-lime and mineral, slate undertones. This wine has amazing mouth-watering acidity, which is balanced by the fruit's natural residual sweetness. This is a very versatile wine to be enjoyed on its own or with food. We recommend it with prosciutto wrapped chicken breast stuffed with basil and oven dried tomatoes.
