Quails Gate Okanagan Kelowna Rose Wine
2010 QUAILS' GATE ROSÉ
Winemaker's Notes:
This Rosé is made with 90% Gamay Noir and 10% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Estate vineyards on the Boucherie Bench. Harvested in October 2010, the grapes were then crushed and soaked overnight, allowing the clear juice to draw flavour and colour from the darker grape skins before it is separated for cold fermentation. Although technically dry, the fruit ripeness and weight suggests a hint of sweetness which is beautifully balanced with the other components in the wine. This wine is meant to be consumed early while the flavours are crisp and vibrant.
Tasting Notes:
Plump, ripe raspberry, strawberry and red currant aromas tumble together in this deliciously fruity, creamy Rosé. The moderate alcohol and excellent balance makes this refreshing wine perfectly suited for lunch time or late afternoon sipping. This Rosé is best served well chilled and pairs nicely with prawn salad, an antipasto platter with cured meats, cheese, smoked salmon, chick pea hummus and pickled vegetables
Awards & Accolades:
90 Points - Daenna Van Mulligen Great value for a wine you can drink all summer! Made from Gamay with a splash of Pinot Noir, this tasty rose offers earthy but juicy red fruit, floral notes, watermelon and spicy, cedary aromas.
