2009 QUAILS' GATE ROSÉ

Winemakers Notes:

This Rosé is made with 100% Gamay Noir grapes grown in the Estate vineyards on the Boucherie Bench. They were harvested in October 2009 , the grapes were then crushed and soaked overnight allowing the clear juice to draw flavour and colour from the darker grape skins before it is separated for cold fermentation. Although technically dry, the fruit ripeness and weight suggest a hint of sweetness, which is beautifully balanced with the other components in the wine. This wine is meant to be consumed early while the flavours are crisp and vibrant.

Tasting Notes:

Rhubarb-strawberry and red current aromas tumble
together in this deliciously fresh, fruity and creamy textured Rosé. Harvested after a very hot summer, this is our ripest version yet. The layers of fruit are enhanced by crisp acidity resulting in an extremely versatile wine. It is beautifully
balanced and perfect for lunchtime or late afternoon
drinking. This wine pairs nicely with tomato, bocconcini and basil salad dressed with balsamic and olive oil or a
bouillabaisse. Stock up for the season and serve
well chilled.
