2006 STEWART FAMILY RESERVE CHARDONNAY

Winemakers Notes:

This Chardonnay is made from 100% Estate grown French clone Chardonnay in a classic cool-climate season giving the wine excellent balance and acidity. All the winemaker influences were used to hand craft this wine - including full barrel fermentation in French oak, 40% new, regular lees stirring and full malolactic fermentation. This wine will reward careful cellaring of up to 5 years.

Tasting Notes:

Citrus and stone fruits combine with delicate sprinklings of ginger and cinnamon. There is a soft, toasty, biscuity character that is cleverly implanted by the french oak barrel fermentation. This wine exudes an excellent harmony of ripe fruit, toasty oak and youthful mouthwatering acidity. We recommend trying this with a creamy seafood pasta.
