Quails Gate Okanagan Kelowna Pinot Noir Wine
2008 STEWART FAMILY RESERVE PINOT NOIR
Winemaker's Notes:
Harvested in October 2008 this vintage benefited from ideal conditions to produce a lively, expressive Pinot Noir. The grapes were sourced 100% from our Quails’ Gate estate Boucherie Mountain vineyards with an average vine age of 24 years. A selection of 4 clones was used to create balance, harmony and ageworthy concentration. Only the best barrel aged components are selected for this wine. Extended skin contact prior to 11 months of ageing in French oak (40 % new and 60% 1 year old) gives depth and character to deliver a powerful yet supple wine.

Tasting Notes:
Dark brooding plum and cherry stone aromas mingle with exotic spice. This leads into a rich and dense palate characterized by firm supple tannins and a gamey complexity. With long term cellaring, this Pinot Noir will reveal earthy notes and more mature fruit. Very cellar worthy with ageing
potential of up to 8 years. It will pair with duck breast served with roasted heirloom beets and creamy polenta or with mushroom risotto finished with white truffle oil and
parmigiano reggiano.
Awards & Accolades:
93 Points - Natalie MacLean What depth, length and intensity: wow! This is Pinot Plus... the plus is hard to describe, but you know when you taste it. Tempestuous black cherries and dark spices mingle with your senses.
91 Points - Rhys Pender
Good intensity on the nose, with aromas of cherry, raspberry, plum, game meat and clove-studded orange. Still young, this has the intensity and structure to develop well with another 5 to 10 years in bottle.
91 Points - James Suckling (March 2011)
