2007 STEWART FAMILY RESERVE PINOT NOIR
Winemakers Notes:
Harvested in October 2007 this vintage provided ideal conditions to produce a lively, expressive Pinot Noir. Sourced 100% from our Quails’ Gate Estate Boucherie Mountain vineyards, with an average vine age of 24 years. A selection of 4 clones were used to create balance, harmony and ageworthy concentration. Only the best barrel aged components are selected for this wine. Extended skin contact prior to 11 months of ageing in French oak (50 % new and 50% 1 year old) gives depth and character to deliver a powerful yet supple wine.

Tasting Notes:
Ripe plum characters mingle with delicate spice and sweet vanilla oak. There are rich savoury notes and fine tannins that float evenly across the palate. The aromas are layered and complex, revealing vivid red fruits, fresh plum and ripe black cherry notes with hints of spice, dark chocolate and earth. With long term cellaring, this Pinot Noir will reveal feral notes and more mature fruit. Very cellar worthy with ageing potential of 5-8 years. Try with roasted duck breast with an Okanagan cherry reduction or wild mushroom risotto.

91 Points - Anthony Gismondi Red fruits, black cherries and spice with a one percent drop in alcohol make this a winner to say the least. The wild ferment also adds another dimension. Fine density and mouthfeel which is what pinot noir is all about. Bravo; the best yet.
