Quails’ Gate Winery takes great pride in our portfolio of Chardonnays. As one of the original wineries in the Okanagan, our first Chardonnay vines were planted more than 30 years ago and we have cultivated some of the oldest and most sought-after Chardonnay blocks in the region. The Estate Chardonnay is crafted to be bright, fresh, vivid and celebrated by all who drink it.
Expect inviting aromas of citrus, orange peel, apricot and lemon. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine displays notes of pear and citrus followed by a warm and lasting finish. An ideal match for lemon-roasted chicken, rich seafood risotto, creamy butternut squash soup or wild pacific spring salmon cakes.
As pioneers of Pinot Noir in the Okanagan Valley, the winemaking team continues to raise the bar with this annual release. Sourced from several premium vineyards and a variety of clones, the 2022 vintage saw large heat spikes in the summer contributing to exceptional ripe, opulent flavours and smooth tannins resulting in an exceptional Pinot Noir.
The 2022 vintage opens with inviting notes of cherry, wild strawberry, sage and black tea. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is well structured with a rich tannin profile presenting flavours of cherry and cocoa. An ideal match for late-season mushroom or squash risotto, seared game meats or roasted pork with wild rice and root vegetables.
Merlot is the most planted red varietal in the Okanagan and typically produces smooth, full-bodied wines with red and black fruit flavours. The Merlot grapes for this wine were grown on our West Kelowna estate.
The 2021 vintage opens with aromas of cedar, peppermint and chocolate covered cherries. Flavours of red fruit with rich, abundant tannins leads to a long, structured finish. An ideal match for Japanese-style teppanyaki wagyu, smoked meats at your next backyard barbecue or alongside creamy wild mushroom pork chops.
