His extensive network of Slow Fish colleagues across Canada and abroad provides a foundation of support and knowledge, ensuring Codfathers stays at the forefront of sustainable seafood practices.

Beyond the Counter: Advocacy for Better Food Systems

Jonathan’s dedication goes far beyond providing outstanding seafood. He is an active voice in shaping better fisheries and food policies. As a board advisor for the T.Buck Suzuki Environmental Foundation, he advocates for sustainable fishing practices and community-based fisheries.

In British Columbia, he’s played a key role in the “Fisheries for Communities” campaign, ensuring local communities benefit from nearby fisheries. Internationally, Jonathan represents Canada at Slow Fish events, collaborating with global advocates to support responsible fishing and protect marine ecosystems.
