SERVICE SUPERVISOR

In collaboration with the Management Team of Old Vines Restaurant ensure every customer enjoys the ultimate winery restaurant experience.  Assist with the direct supervision of Old Vines Restaurant service team to ensure the restaurant is operating in a professional, customer orientated and effective manner.  Act as a leader on the floor.

Lead the team – Train, coach & motivate team members to achieve the vision and the day-to-day tasks.

    • Supervise Restaurant Team
    • Support and offer ongoing training (product knowledge, customer service skills, technical skills) as directed by the Manager.
    • Conduct daily shift briefings in absence of the Manager
    • Address safety and employee performance issues promptly and appropriately – ensure employees are aware of and observe company policies & procedures and bring to the attention of the Manager

Achieve Quails’ Gate service standards

    • Provide a presence on the floor to ensure customer service is at the Quails’ Gate standard of excellence
    • Address customer complaint issues as appropriate, communicate these to the Service Manager
    • Enforce and adhere to the company standards (Steps of Service)
    • Communicate efficiently with the kitchen to ensure smooth operation
    • Participate in the weekly service management meeting

Office Duties & Daily procedures

    • Assist with required tasks in POS system
    • Ensure server cash outs are balanced at the end of a shift
    • Daily opening and closing procedures
    • Ensure the restaurant front of house areas are clean and present a professional appearance at all times

SEASONAL CONTRACT

The Market - Supervisor

The Market at Quails’ Gate is an exciting new extension of Old Vines Restaurant, offering finely crafted coffee, locally sourced seasonal sundry items and of course Quails’ Gate wine.

In collaboration with the Kitchen and the OVR Management Team, The Market Supervisor is responsible for creating the ultimate Market experience. Assist with the direction of the Market team, barista duties, wine and sundry sales and achieving Quails’ Gate service standards.

Lead the team – Train, coach & motivate team members to achieve the vision and the day-to-day tasks.

    • Supervise daily operations of The Market
    • Ensure cash outs are balanced at the end of the day
    • Communicate ordering needs with OVR management for wine, coffee and sundry items.
    • Daily opening and closing procedures.

Brand Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and be responsible to lead the profitable development of SFE’s wine brands through ownership of marketing strategies that support broader business objectives. You will be responsible for delivering growth, brand awareness and innovation, ensuring all communications are accurate and well-presented to achieve brand standards.  Oversight of SFE’s collection of brands including Quails’ Gate, Valley of the Moon, Lake Sonoma Winery and Plume are required.  Specific duties include driving the SFE wine brands strategy through short and medium term planning; managing the SFE brand portfolio to achieve brand vision as well as profit, volume and equity objectives; develop and execute annual brand plans.

The ideal candidate will champion the brand and its purpose clearly and effectively to drive change and accelerate growth internally and externally making sure all stakeholders understand the brand and its goals, vision, marketing strategy.  They will hold a Business degree, a strong understanding of brand marketing and knowledge of the Okanagan wine industry.

  • Previous cellar experience required
  • Valid forklift license is an asset
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding job; bending, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in receiving and processing fruit, sorting, pressing etc.
  • Preform punch downs, pump-overs
  • Monitor fermentation Brix and temperature
  • Racking juice, filling topping and stirring barrels
  • Removing pomance from tank and presses
  • Operation of forklift, crusher/de-stemmer, press, conveyer and pump
  • Accurate record keeping
  • General cleaning and sanitization of winery and winery equipment

We are currently recruiting for seasonal positions starting late August 2020, harvest will go through until November 2020.

Communications Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and be responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing internal and external marketing and communication programs.  This role will focus on developing communications that reinforce our brand platforms and be the primary contact for media inquiries.  The creative side of this role will be driven based on creating experiences (such as orchestrating and hosting winemaker and SFE family events with key media, manage event participation and create and execute special events to promote brand awareness.  Oversight of our digital marketing strategy and social media campaigns will also be a key function.

 

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications or related field along with 3 years’ experience in premium/luxury, wine/alcohol beverage and/or consumer products marketing.
  • 3-5 years experience in Public relations
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail
  • Previous Marketing Management experience an asset
  • WSET Level 2 or equivalent (recommended)
