Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures
  • Restock all service ware
  • Operate dishwasher to company and manufacturer specifications
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and correctly stored
  • Remove garbage/recycling
  • Break down, clean, and sanitize the dish area at the end of the day
  • Ensure dish, storage areas, coolers and equipment are clean and organized
  • Ensure regular communication with Chef/Sous Chef regarding dish area issues and ordering of product
  • Assist in receiving and storing supplies and food

The ideal candidate loves to work outdoors (rain or shine), communicates well and come to us with hands on vineyard (or agricultural) experience.  They believe in leading by example and work hard to ensure each shift runs smoothly and efficiently.  They understand the importance of teamwork and leadership.

 

Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum experience working in a supervisory capacity
  • Ability to communicate on an on-going basis and motivate team members to perform to their maximum level of productivity
  • Previous experience operating applicable tools and related equipment
  • Basic understanding of vineyard operations and horticulture
  • Good estimating ability and organizational skills
  • Availability to work up to 60+ hours/wk, Mon.-Sat. with occasional Sunday work
  • Available to travel to vineyard sites in West and East Kelowna as well as Osoyoos and any other vineyards where we harvest grapes
  • Basic Spanish is an asset

 

Responsibilities:

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all tasks completed by the team and the time taken for each task
  • Reporting of potential problems with employees, equipment or other resources to the vineyard management team
  • Monitor the vineyard’s health for disease, deficiencies and stress and and report findings to Vineyard Manager
  • Maintain and track all tools and supplies as related to the field crews assigned tasks
  • Continuously look for ways to improve performance, health and safety, efficiency and cost savings when it comes to vineyard operations
  • Lead hands are also tasked with general vineyard duties including but not limited to: pruning, tying, shoot positioning, canopy maintenance, fruit thinning, picking and planting or other duties as requested by, or in conjunction with the vineyard operations team.
  • Support daily safe work practices

 

Rate of Pay:
Rate of pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications
Please note that these positions are defined as Farm Workers under the Employment Standards Regulations for BC and will be paid as per the details in the Employment Standards Act.

Wage:  $16.00 – $19.00 per hour
