As a family-owned business, whose strength is built on a culture of integrity and innovative spirit, Quails’ Gate Winery team members share in a commitment to excellence in quality and service. From our seasoned vintners to our estate team members, each bring their own unique skills and a shared passion for wine and culinary experiences.
At Quails’ Gate, we are deeply passionate about the quality of our wines – they represent the values of the family and speak to the terroir we are fortunate to work with. We never believe we have it all figured out and spend each day imagining new expressions, continually endeavouring to improve our craft.
Growing up in a winemaking family, Rowan started his career working in the Quails’ Gate vineyards in 2004. He studied Viticulture and Winemaking in New Zealand where he spent five years before travelling to California to work in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. He then spent three harvests on the Niagara Peninsula before returning to the family business in 2020.
A Kelowna native, Kailee graduated from UBC Okanagan with a Microbiology degree and after experiencing harvest as a Cellar Hand, travelled east to study Oenology and Viticulture at Brock University. Starting as a lab technician, she was quickly promoted to Oenologist, Assistant Winemaker and Associate Winemaker, honing her skills with a stint making cool-climate Pinot Noir in Central Otago.
Armed with a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Queen’s University and a graduate diploma in Oenology from South Australia, Jeff brings 16 years of winemaking experience to his role as Senior Winemaker. Prior to joining the team, Jeff made wine in Australia’s Barossa Valley and several wineries in the southern Okanagan Valley.
