Quails’ Gate x Okanagan Spirits

Over 15 years ago, Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery was in search of a special barrel for a double-wood finished Whisky and Quails’ Gate was looking to make a fortified wine without the use of neutral grain spirits. Connections were made and a local partnership was born. 

Over the next decade, Okanagan Spirits agreed to distill Quails’ Gate lees for barrel-aged fortified Foch, and in exchange, Quails’ Gate provided Okanagan Spirits with the emptied barrels for their double-wood-finished Single Malt Whiskey—Laird of Fintry.

FORTIFIED VINTAGE FOCH

Our family’s heritage in the Okanagan Valley was established by the arrival of Richard Stewart Sr., one of the first Irish settlers to pioneer the rugged Okanagan Valley landscape in 1908. In celebration of more than 100 years of farming these bountiful lands, we dedicate our Fortified Vintage Foch to our Grandfather. A toast to his fortitude and lasting legacy

SINGLE MALT WHISKY

Over the last 10 years, The Okanagan Sprits’ Laird of Fintry Single Malt Whisky has been made using Quails’ Gate barrels used to age our Fortified Vintage Foch. This limited-release, Okanagan-made spirit has won gold at the World Spirits Awards in 2015, 2017 and 2020 in addition to winning Whisky of the year!

A Foch-Inspired Supper featuring Quails’ Gate & Okanagan Spirits

Over the last 10 years, The Okanagan Spirits’ Laird of Fintry Single Malt Whisky has been made using Quails’ Gate barrels used to age our Fortified Vintage Foch. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, we will be hosting a Foch-inspired, 4-course dinner on Friday, November 3. Both the Winemaker and Distiller will be on hand to speak to the wines and the Whisky.
