Themes:
February 12: Red Wines of the Heart – to celebrate Valentine’s Day
If there is a holiday deserving of special red wines, it’s Valentine’s Day.  This interactive tasting seminar will cover the basics of how red wines are made and how the grapes, grapegrowing and winemaking influence the style of the wine in your glass. From Rosé to Syrah we will cover food and wine pairing suggestions, service and storage, decanting and glassware.

February 26: The Wine Styles of Burgundy
In this seminar we will be looking at the famous French region of Burgundy and how it has influenced wine styles around the world. We will focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and even try a sparkling offering from the region.

March 4: The Cabernet Family
This class and tasting will focus on the Cabernet family tree. Different types and relatives of Cabernet represent an array of wines with different representations around the world! Wines discussed will include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc and even Carménère.

March 11: Built to Last – aged wines
Some wines improve with age; others are enjoyed best when they are young. In this informative seminar we will look at which types of wine age well and why. We will taste some older vintages from the Quails’ Gate cellar as well as our personal cellars to highlight the differences between a new and older wine and how color, aroma and taste evolve with time.

March 25: Wines across Canada
In a country as large and environmentally varied as Canada, it’s no surprise that there’s a huge variety of wine produced in our home and native land. This class will look at wines and wine styles produced across the different provinces, specifically learning about the unique properties and tasting wines from Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec.

April 1: The Best of Beautiful BC
Get all the updated facts and figures about our home province of British Columbia. Our tastings will look at similarities, differences and special offerings of up-and-coming wine regions of the Thompson Valley, Lillooet, Shuswap and the Kootenays as well as some favorites closer to home.
